Alright, Readers... Today is February 26th, and I'm sitting here with a little head cold and a giant comforter going...
WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING THIS YEAR???
While I've been feeling the weight of rapid political changes (which professionally has involved the cancellation and postponement of many of my diversity-related events), I've also been falling deeper and deeper in love with content creation. Last post, I talked about approaching [and later exceeding] 20K impressions on a LinkedIn video for the first time. (And, to paint the picture, prior to this, I was performing so poorly that I was convinced I was shadow-banned.) Shortly after, I posted another video, and this happened:
It's as if I woke up and realized a cellphone camera is a stage, and I'm sometimes better at getting the point across when I've got performer tricks up my sleeve.
So, I ramped up my Instagram, got on TikTok last week (for real), started uploading shorts and a neurodiversity training on YouTube, and now feel an absolute explosion of creative energy, despite the winter sniffles.
As my cousin once said to me: "I love that I still suprise myself."
Manager Training also went live as an e-course last Friday (🎉), and I'm busy finding ways to connect the program with the leaders who'd most benefit from it.
It's all a bit surreal... the live version (e-learning + weekly facilitation) launched in January, so Cohort 1 is wrapping up tomorrow. (!!!) I wanted to reflect back the wins they shared with me, and there were so many I had to move it to a Miro board for viewing purposes.
I'm so excited for this thoughtful group of managers/soon-to-be managers and whatever their next leadership chapter is about to be!
I have no doubt I'm also shifting into a very different way of working. A new mentor described it as "cave exploration...." I'm in the lowest level of The New, and I'm shining a light trying to figure out which paths have treasures versus dead-ends.
Is anyone else feeling like they're navigating The New? Scroll all the way down and let me know what you're discovering in the comments!
